Talk about a quiet rollout - the Google Analytics team must have been working a lot of late nights recently, as this evening they've released a completely overhauled interface for their analytics. Quite the surprise! (In fact, as I write this the announcement has just popped up on Bloglines)

The graphs and visualisations are a lot more responsive, larger and easier to manipulate - they all use an extensively-customisable graph control, with the ability to garner a very fine control over the specific metrics and time slices. No longer are we limited by the previous interface!

In particular, the geo overlay maps have seen a major improvement - one can zoom right in on the map itself, rather than navigating the clumsier Urchin-style country lists.

I was already a fan of Google Analytics before these changes, but now some of the arbitrary restrictions on reporting have been lifted, and a multitude of new reports have been added, I'm rather impressed with the new interface. If you're already a GA user, I recommend you log in and have a play with the new features - everyone else, check out the official tour.
